[marbre] nu descendant un escalier [marbre] - (after Duchamp)

After a long pause, a white marble sphere luxuriates (i.e. 'bounces') its way down a white marble staircase; just as it leaves the bottom of the screen it reappears at the top, locked in a pointless, metronomic cycle of striking against a hard surface. In reference to Marcel Duchamp's 'Nu descendant un escalier' (Nude descending a staircase), this video invokes a (visual) pathetic fallacy; chance, beauty, and luxury are conflated in this artwork/prank/homage.
